Memes, a Singularity? PBS Idea Channel

On first pass, the framing seems a bit…deterministic — singularity, humans as computers, content begetting further content via Pavlov’s Borg, etc. But as Mike Rugnetta –1/3 of Memfactory and all-around Smart Person– acknowledges midway through, there are humans behind the hiveminds, oh yes, humans with agency. And humans with political/economic power, some of which have more than others (ahem Buzzfeed, whose humans loooove a good context-letting). So pull up a chair, kids. There’s a(nother) brave new world to contend with!
